Baek Sehee, the author of I WANT TO DIE BUT I WANT TO EAT TTEOKBOKKI has passed away. She was 35.

The Korean organ donation authority reports that Sehee saved five lives through her donation of her heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys.

A part of me still struggles with dressing haena because I want to dress her in what I like but yeah there is a weird tension of trying to separate haena from the self-insert OC when I first started playing ffxiv
probably haena because she's the least like me irl and is the wol so there's some navigating around the in game canon that I don't have to worry about with my other characters. Also before she was haena, she was just envee and so she dressed and looked different...
This is far far far from being done. I only really got everyone's early life sections set up but if you'd like to peep the wip

I get the hunt for smth new and special! Recently, I saw poor things and felt like it was really special. In some ways a bit avant-garde but yorgos lanthimos has a really sharp sense of dark humor and dialogue so the movie isn't inaccessible or obtuse
I think there's also a strong narrative about black men and how they interpret manhood in relation to their woman counterparts. How does race and gender inflect on one's identity as a soldier, a provider, a self-made entrepreneur, as a lover, as an artist?
How those communities' suffering is also the forge in which that art is made and yet is what destroys so many of their lives. This art then draws in other people, including other marginalized groups, because the suffering is palpable through the bliss of the music
Tbh I love sinners, and while the connection to other similar films is there, I don't think it's trying to necessarily be novel or unique - just be a really entertaining vampire movie. A lot of the movie's heart is in black music and it's connection to its communities
My OCs are about asking what it means to be korean american, but also a love letter to the individuals and the communities that raised me - both literally and not
taiwanese, filipino, and so many other cultures. Black and queer music, art, and fashion opened doors for my self expression in a time where I was most lost and confused.
What if I had superheroes, villains, power fantasies, etc with characters that represented my culture and my experiences? Why not have korean pirates? Growing up in the east coast, I was blessed to grow up next to not just korean ppl but also desi, dominican and puerto rican, italian,...

There was no Korea analog in etheyris so I made my own. I have gone on and on about how my OCs explore imperialism, diaspora, the erosion of language, history, and culture BUT I want to also take a sec to say I just wanted to explore concepts that are cool and fun to me!

time to go all out, writers. what themes do you explore in your WoL/OCs character?

for example; aurora tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, womanhood, (in some cases) religion. For me when i make decisions as small as gender it can completely alter how I write a character!!
sometimes you gotta look at your oc's back
cheering before i get engulfed by the flames

If you have korean bibimbap veggies on hand, those over rice, sesame oil, gochujang, and maybe a fried egg is perfect. If I'm not feeling korean food, I like to get trader joes frozen hash browns and make breakfast sandwiches on buttered ciabatta with some garlic, a runny egg, and some hot sauce
What's your favorite low effort meal?
I'm sending some over. We got the white radish that's good with fried food, the spicy cucumber which is really refreshing, and the classic spicy cabbage
If you mix some sesame oil in the rice, add kimchi of choice, then roll that up with seaweed, that's basically what my mom would pack me for lunch as a kid
the colors here are soo pretty. love the energy in the pose too!
WHATT UR PRETTY TOO!
