@robynhitchcock.bsky.social Apologies for being nerdy, but I've always loved The Arms of Love, and the sustained guitar sound. You may prefer not to say, but was that an eBow or a sustainiac pickup followed by a moderate delay? I'm assuming the latter, but I think the eBow gets quite close.

I'm a week away from being made redundant from a job I've hated for years. I can't wait. I'm very lucky as I can just retire. The only fly in the ointment is that I just don't know what I'm going to do.

I'm feeling smug. Our central heating wasn't working, and after much research and cogitation, I'd narrowed the problem down to the mid-position valve actuator. I was contemplating replacing it when it occurred to me that the offending microswitch could be sorted by hitting it. Worked like a charm!

It will probably always be controversial, but I will be hoping that #NZ-W can beat Deepti on Thursday. She's been clear about how she sees cricket, but the way she plays it is not one that I can agree with. That Mankad really is a problem.
