Found a sample of the refill ex-bourbon 10 year old. Both have similarities, but the 8 year old from first-fill casks dials up the fruit and just edges it in my opinion. Both excellent.

Google tells me it’s a fortified sweet wine from the south of France. I’m not too familiar with it either to be honest, but have seen a few whiskies matured in it.

Looks like it’s probably 60’s or 70’s at a guess Mick. I’ve got a spring cap one which the auction listing said was estimated 1950’s, but I’ve not opened it yet.
