How much for a pint tho?
After the decline in quality and resultant closure of The Curry Leaf, where do those in SW Edinburgh get their curry delivered from now?

Crying and crying at this episode. So touching, especially when viewed as a parent of young kids.

Pay attention to how media covers this draw. Who calls out the issues and which ones gloss over it. Plenty of sports outlets are quite ready to play along with FIFA & Trump and they do not deserve neither your time nor your money. #worldcupdraw

Oldest's football training is out at Saughton astro for the first time, and it's got me absolutely buzzing off the grassroots football vibe. So many different teams and communities here this morning. Class.

This road layout needs changed tomorrow. Better than that, it needs changed decades ago.

We cannot afford consultation, dither, and delay.
We hope she makes a full & speedy recovery

When will Edinburgh council make our streets safe? - delays are costing lives and traumatising families

Horrible to see there's been an accident at the junction of Colinton Road (30mph) & Meggetland.

A junction we use more than daily. And used by dozens of young sportspeople

Consultation, dither, delay, the Edinburgh council way. There's someone in an ambulance now.

Change it to 20mph immediately.

Instead of a segregated cycle path why not simply cycle round one of the most busy and dangerous roundabouts in the whole city/country.

And you want us to give up the Roseburn Path and trust you to give a viable alternative in return?
Ferry Road Path CLOSED to pedestrians and cyclists from today to 16 January for installation of a security fence at Leonardo. TTRO closure order was signed on Wednesday with the below diversion: www.edinburgh.gov.uk/downloads/fi... #EdTravCyc @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike

That’s pretty good coverage of the more rural parts of Scotland!

In combination with a bike or e-bike, you can get almost anywhere
If you cycle tour then you now have an alternative to ScotRail / Citylink / Flix for bike transport. Ember routes now go as far north as Wick & Thurso

Bikes are easy to prebook on Ember site. They don't insist on bike bag but not too muddy as bike may go in hold.

This is the key for me. All that time back, and no stress. Ideal.
My journey to the school gates: 7 minutes on the bike → 20 minutes by bus
Supermarket trip: 10 minutes on the bike → 30 minutes by bus
Across the city: 25 minutes on the bike → 60 minutes by bus

So cycling is three times faster than the bus, for me.

Putting a tram on a linear park & walking/cycling path won’t reduce traffic one iota.

Because “traffic” is a product of human choices, and behaves like a gas that expands to fill the available road-space volume

A tram on the road, however, would at least go some way to reduce allocation to cars
Yet another evidence review argues very strongly that simply providing alternatives to driving doesn't reduce driving

This isn't surprising, if only thanks to habit. If I unthinkingly jump in my car for every trip (as many do), new buses won't change that
