Here are three of the books I use at home before digging into the research archives at the Central Library at Copley Square—the first public library in the entire nation.

“Only The Ball Was White”
“Voices From The Great Black Baseball Leagues”
“The Biographical Encyclopedia Of The Negro Leagues”

In Dorchester the city shuts down Melville Ave and surrounding streets and it is the most delightful mayhem. The whole neighborhood is out in the streets, best night of the year.

I would dearly love to see a New England town using its historic cemetery for one of its original purposes (sheep pasture). You could even do spinning, dyeing, and drying there. Think of the marketing for the yarn!

Die Dye Die

Dyed and Gone to Heaven

Spinning in the Grave

Alas, Poor Yarnick
so i guess the week has already reached Peak Boston
call for the angry Amazon driver speeding around Savin Hill Ave, now yelling racial slurs at folks who's telling him to slow down. BPD checking the area.

Such a bad idea. We have a massive housing shortage in Boston that drives up costs for everyone. Anything that arbitrarily raises the cost of homes even at the high end will have a domino effect that exacerbates the already cutthroat competition for new homes 1/

The Gray Lady takes note of our recent Savin Hill restaurant/gangster-photo contretemps as only it can:

"And it has made clear that a current of trauma still courses through some neighborhoods, decades after Mr. Bulger terrorized the city."

A robust pizza debate, reminders about #Boston early-voting (starts on Sat. 10/25) and learning more about Dot's new semi-pro men's soccer team Dot City FC. #Dorchester #DotLife
The biggest difference between urban pro-development candidates like Baker and YIMBY is that YIMBYs want to replace the necessity for connections to get anything built in Boston with more by right construction open to anyone. Not sure Frank would even run for office in those conditions.
Putting the vaguely populist bullet point about listening to development concerns aside, Frank is actually pro-development - especially far away from Savin Hill over the bridge and especially if it's his brother's project.
It's good Frank isn't running on his attention to detail...although voters who care about things like proper spelling and avoiding stirring up sectarian conflict during local redistricting probably aren't voting for him anyway.
