My council colleague Paddy Monahan and I made a short video about an unsafe junction in Whitehall in Dublin. Yet again, #motonormativity putting our kids in danger. We’re working to get this fixed before someone gets hurt. #speirgorm #ActiveTravel #StreetsAreForPeople

Context: Someone sat down and, honest to god, wrote a column about the fact that last weekend the newly elected Uachtarán na hÉireann (President of Ireland), Catherine Connolly, spoke *too much* Irish during her acceptance speech, and this made the columnist uncomfortable.

A sign of getting old in Dublin is hoping for rain on Halloween night (once the help the halloween party kids are finished of course.)
Thunderstorm warning issued for parts of South, Southeast and East this Friday evening with very heavy downpours and local spot flooding likely. Also some strong gusts in Southeast.

What a weird take on BBC's Celebrity Traitors in Irish Times today.
I can now cycle about 13km to work and of that, only 400 metres is on a road shared with cars. Probably the most scenic commute in Dublin. Follows the Dodder the whole way.
With the completion of the Butterfield Ave/Firhouse Road section of the Dodder Greenway it is now possible to cycle ~13km from Ely's Arch to the Bohernabreena Reservoir Park (almost) entirely off road.
