Oh gosh I appreciate it, but no worries - I enjoy doing commissions when I’m not so desperate. Wouldn’t want yours to be “out there” before Christmas 😉

I was hoping he didn’t pick up on my taken aback surprised look on my face LOL

Oh you’re good - I appreciate it. I might’ve come off a bit too much perhaps, but i guess it’s where my head is at

Debated even posting about this because I don’t want this to be a pity party on a site where I like to share things. I value the space here and don’t want to taint it. But I felt the need to explain why I haven’t been posting Morgue File stuff lately. I will tho. I’ll get there. Just give me time.

This whole year has been the worst. In the past, I was able to supplement the time in between books with storyboard gigs. Not so now. There’s nothing. It’s dried up. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well DoorDashing can only pay so much 😩. Just making the rounds on LinkedIn, etc. It’s soul crushing
wardjenkins.bsky.social
I should clarify: yes, even though I’m under contract working on this GN series, I don’t get a payment until after I deliver which can be months. So, I’m having to fill in the time with work - ANY work 🙃

Kinda hard to find anything to post for the morgue file when my work situation is dire. Job searching just saps the fun and energy out of everything

Exactly. This was me, internally

Bumped into a former co-worker from years ago - a 3d animator/compositor - and they mentioned they were using ChatGPT every day for their new business venture and I tell ya the life and soul of that conversation was sucked out so fast I couldn’t even think straight.

Me: “Hey, good luck with that.”

I've never played the game, but found the conceptual work by Edouard Caplain so incredibly compelling and inspired me while working on the graphic novel series I've been illustrating.
Sci-fi conceptual artwork of an interior of a space ship with an open area and skylights. Sci-fi conceptual artwork of an interior of a space ship with some large workstations, with one trashed a bit, with the chair on the floor. Sci-fi conceptual artwork of an interior of a space ship, and it's dark, with a harsh light on a workspace table. Sci-fi conceptual artwork of an interior of a space ship with what looks like a loading dock/bay.

One of my favorites of his. The other is In a Silent Way, which was just a year later - clearly I really dug this era of Miles's

Dr. Seuss’s Horton! has finally arrived on Netflix! I boarded one ep- “Catch that Kite” - in the 1st episode (2nd story). I was set to board more this season, but i eventually got the email that changed my trajectory: a chance to work on the Space Case graphic novel! Quite a turn! ☺️ Anyway, enjoy!

I certainly hope this means what I think it means 🤞🤞

WildBrain studios have been an incredible group of people to work for. I've been amazed by the intensity in maintaining the look and feel of Sparky's original comic as well as the Bill Melendez's directed specials. Many thanks to the wizards of WildBrain for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime.
Storyboard drawing of Snoopy in a camp leaders hat and Woodstock, along with other birds are hugging him. Charlie Brown and Linus in camper's hats sitting on a camp bed, looking over three single pieces of gum.

Today marks 75 years of Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic strip. As an avid follower and fan of the comic strip, perhaps one of the biggest honors in my career so far has to have been a storyboard artist on Snoopy In Space and Camp Snoopy - a small blip in the Peanuts legacy, but a major honor for me.
Snoopy in a dark cave with Woodstock - they have space suits and helments on. Charlie Brown is grimacing because Lucy's holding up a toy planet that just so happens to be the same shape as his head. The Peanuts crew in a corner of a NASA facility, with Franklin working out a formula on a big huge blackboard.

Thanks for sharing, Jason. Here, I have a hashtag for all the good art I've found and shared in the past: #wardsmorguefile - hopefully this'll be the balm you're looking for.
