Can you take a sick day?
It's not the *same* but when I did IOP for Panic/Anxiety, we talked a lot about how society treats emotional/mental issues as "less" than physical issues, but if you are having a panic attack (or a meltdown) - you should treat it the same as a 24-hour flu or a sprained ankle
