A small pearl bordered Fritillary landed nearby (middle of a very stingy stinging nettle bush), so I crept in, got very stung, and got a close up of its eye (will post the rest of the butterfly later). I love, light and mottled insect eyes. #weirdfetish #blueeyes #butterfly #macro #wildlife

Near the end of a hike the route was by a dry stone wall seen in the foreground. The fells are covered in autumn colours from the bracken and trees. There are also rocky outcrops and dry stone walls crisscrossing the lower areas. Although the sky is cloudy the overall impression is of a beautiful blue.

I've often been ripped up in a thicket whilst waiting for the best shot! Its always worth it. Even just for the story and view 😄 sometimes the pics don't work but the memory stays 🙌🏻💚
