South London Press has printed its last issue. Very sad, but not surprising. In later years it only survived thanks to its excellent sports coverage (ironically, in the last week Charlton and the Dons have been promoted and Palace have won the cup!).

But many will remember it fondly, including me.

Looking west up Beresford Street to the overbridge carrying the 4-track railway between Elephant & Castle and Loughborough Junction. The bridge carries a large sign painted in black on a white background: SOUTH EASTERN & CHATHAM RAILWAY - WALWORTH ROAD STATION. The station entrance is on the right before the bridge. Two people are stood looking over the bridge parapet, they must be railway workers as the platforms started north of the bridge.

Following a successful trial, Southwark Council is making a new bookable bay system on Walworth Road permanent.

Developed with Grid Smarter Cities, the project involves delivery drivers booking kerbside drop-off slots in advance using an app.
