Just watched "Life", the sci-fi horror:

Holy shit, I have never liked a film so much until the last 30 minutes and then HATED said movie.

Every human being in this movie is a paper crane: pretty and cool to look at, but folds under the SLIGHTEST pressure into a jumbled mess.

I still hope for more direct action from those in power (failing that, from us) against this regime we live under, because all the signs and demonstrations in the world won't stop fascism.

However: it's heartening to see so many of my fellow Coloradans getting activated against this bullshit.

It was awesome to see as many people out for the No Kings Day rallies as I did!

I was on the way to work, hearing the honks and seeing the lines of people outside City Hall and I felt so proud of my city. Wish I could be there instead of making rent!

I left, and will continue to leave, the WaddupMatty Twitter as a locked down parked account.

I continue to not miss it.

Bluesky has faults but it looks better, feels better to use, and the ability to mass block Nazis, grifters, and bots make it worth nearly any little issue.

It needs to be said: the UI design on mobile is the AWFUL and cramped and just... ugh.

In the best ways, Bluesky looks like my best memories of what Twitter used to look like, with a few QoL tweaks that I'm damn fond of.
