Many years ago, Zohran attended a few meetings of Survived and Punished NY. When we launched our #FreeThemAll campaign to free people in women's prisons who were incarcerated for defending themselves against DV/SA, Zohran who was then working on Cynthia Nixon's campaign got us on her radar.

This piece is based on an anabaptist commune I visited in 2005 where the men could get clothes at Sears and go to work, but the women had to create their own garments, wear dresses and do chores.
