I once encountered a false sharing issue where simply adding _unused_ code (e.g. a=5) to a script that calls my C++ made the bug go away. This unused code shifted the memory such that the data was no longer at the cache line boundary :')

Initially I was annoyed at people here who don't engage in good faith, but now I'm thinking of unfollowing good faith profiles who regularly engage with bad faith ones. I don't want boringass arguments on my feed. I've also liberally blocked everybody who acts in bad faith here.

It seems to me that it's both value and hype, then. Whether valuations are insane, probably?, but there's certainly an actual big tech impact as well. Whereas NFTs are... maybe theoretically valuable, but I can't tell you what value they're actually providing rn

Anti-AI people are misdirecting their anger at AI instead of lack of UBI (or regulation). Automation will keep happening and we need it to happen because humans have limited capability to solve problems. We have also discovered (rather than invented) AI and have limited control over its direction
