In an ongoing war against misinformation; AI hallucinations; the ranking of information being determined by advertising revenue; SEO slop; and the general enshitification of the web in general and search in particular, #Wikipedia is leading the charge. It's well worth celebrating this milestone.

Visualising ski run elevation profiles of Hunter Mountain.

Thoughts? I tried facetting them by difficulty but they'd look either too wide or tall. Is it useful, interesting? Might be worth combining with an isometric view (in rayshader).

I've spent the last few weeks slowly going through #NACIS2025 recordings, looking for inspiration and joy in map-making to get me through a difficult time.

This is in no way a comprehensive list, but these cartographers and their presentations really stood out to me in their creative process (1/5)

I've put the full episode up in video form which is even better because it includes visuals of charts we talk about.

It's a handy explainer for people curious about the whole idea of data viz and potentially wanting to get started with it themselves.
