I’m a massive Hunter S Thompson fan and celebrate his “Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail ‘72”. It’s my favorite.

I learned of Thompson’s death while leaving Dublin, Ireland in 2005.

I don’t understand why this is happening.

Hunter S Thompson's death to be reviewed by Colorado investigators 20 years later
Investigators will look at the writer's 2005 death, which was ruled a suicide, at the family's request despite no new evidence of foul play.

Monster Magnet’s records from 1993 - 1998 remain a guilty pleasure.

I remember first hearing “Twin Earth” on the Columbus, OH Z-Rock affiliate and losing my mind.
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band’s “Night Moves” or The Doors’ “L.A. Woman”.
What is Dad playing?
I hope, after he dutifully shops himself around, he stays in Philadelphia.
I am disappointed.
Hoo ah. This one’s been on my want list for a while.
These days, very few albums are truly lost. Some just get misplaced. Take Bay area jazz band Smoke’s 1973 album Everything, an LP that should be universally acknowledged as a stone-cold classic of groove music and proto-acid jazz yet seldom gets mentioned

#BloodIncantation’s #MorrisKolontyrsky is about to release a record, “Origination”, in October. I absolutely love the inspiration his press photo draws from Göttsching’s “Inventions For Electric Guitar”.

That “neck to nuts” tie never ceases to disappoint.
I’ve arrived at the “wearing a knee brace because my right patellar tendon screams when I walk down stairs” phase of my late 40s.
July’s listening habits thanks to #AppleMusic and #AppleMusicReplay

2025’s releases remain strong this month, including Hell, Budos Band, and Planning For Burial.

And one final thought: Ozzy going out after giving an emotional final performance that raised a ton of money for charity is more spiritually uplifting and did more genuine good than anything any televangelist and religious grifter who railed against him ever did combined.

Nothing disturbs me more than the glorification of stupidity.

Very fair observation. I didn’t think of it like that.
That Padres color scheme and font, though.
Streaming a few of the records from my collection and reminded how great this cut is from Brebian’s “Middle Eastern Rock” LP from 1969.
