Some brilliant #MEdEd news. Roche announced statistically significant and clinically meaningful results from the phase III INShore study of Gazyva®/Gazyvaro® (obinutuzumab) in children and young adults (aged >= 2-25 years) with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS).
We're running an uncontrolled experiment on Indian children's brains. Every cough syrup. Every appetite stimulant. Anticholinergics blocking neurotransmitters in developing brains. The worst part? We're doing it to calm OUR anxiety, not cure THEIR illness.👇

7️⃣ Different body sites, different conversations: Cervix and uterus = diplomacy. Rectum = defense. That’s why immune responses — and risks — differ by where semen lands.
5️⃣ Over time, that tolerance helps pregnancy succeed. Long-term partners? Lower risk of rejection-like immune issues (like pre-eclampsia). Your immune system prefers consistency.
4️⃣ The female body listens. Instead of attacking, it adapts. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) learn that partner’s antigens and build “tolerance memory.” Your immune system literally remembers who you’ve been with.
3️⃣ Those prostate molecules — TGF-β, PGE₂, IL-10 — are peacekeepers. They tell the receiving immune system: “Don’t attack. I come in peace.” Without that truce, fertilization would be a war.
2️⃣ Sperm aren’t lone travelers. They’re passengers in a biochemical potion called seminal plasma — rich in cytokines, growth factors, and immune-calming signals from the prostate.
1️⃣ Every time two people have sex, their immune systems meet. They exchange information — and if the bond lasts, the body learns that partner’s molecular signature. Not metaphor. Biology. #meded#medsky#TIL#science#biology
