Today is transgender day of remembrance, so remember to love the trans people in your life because you never know when you might lose them 💚

Fun collab I did with babygirl @fiskdisk.fiskiper.art a couple years ago!

I did the storyboarding, she laid down the lines and flat colors, and I did the painting/rendering (including the drippy Sulyvahn Beast maw juice, is my monsterfuckery obvious enough?)

I misread this image so badly that I can only really hope to illustrate what I saw.

The real and true story of why Police Squad (the TV series Naked Gun was based on and easily the funniest tv show of its time) was canceled is legitimately insane and one of the most egregious examples of TV malpractice I’ve ever heard:

The only truly irreversible thing a trans child is likely to do is take their own life. "What if they do something irreversible?" actually means "theyre not allowed to make a decision!"

You cant undo or reverse any decision you make, you can simply change your mind later and handle the consequences

In my article, I quoted something from Stuart Hall's "Culture, Community, Nation," an essay first published in a 1993 issue of Cultural Studies. He writes:

"It should not be necessary to look, walk, feel, think, speak exactly like a paid-up member of the buttoned-up, stiff-upper-lipped, ...

But on issues such as respectability and morality, I think you should judge people by their deeper, more important actions. That doesn't mean how they dress, but how they treat others on a more meaningful level.

I will end with something I wrote five years ago about the messy nature of dress codes.

Just the other day, I saw someone say they are glad young black men are "wearing quarter zips" and putting away "Jordans," which they say are associated with "ratchet behavior." One should be careful about equating black culture with "ratchet behavior," as they are not one and the same.

There are often debates online about how to dress respectably (and the importance of doing so). These discussions often get uncomfortable because they touch on class and race.

On matters of respectable dress, it's helpful to separate two distinct acts. The first is how you decide to dress; the second is how you judge others. It's true that the world judges our appearance.

Let's move on with the rest of the passage.

Lewis recognizes that modesty raises thorny issues, but he sweeps them aside to focus on the more important spirit. I want to bring your attention to the last sentence here:

Lewis points out something interesting here: modesty has to be understood within the matter of context. A woman in the Pacific Islands, he notes, can be modest while wearing barely any clothes, while a Victorian woman will have different standards for the same idea.

Regarding behavior, there's a chapter on sexual morality that begins with one of the least popular Christian virtues: modesty. Here's what CS Lewis had to say:
