The fandom drama ramping up in the recent years has really been the driving force of my burnout. Been seeing a purity ouroboros form, cult of personalities form around people, and ofc the side of the fandom full of wannabe edgelord Nazis… it’s all so tiring…

You can find em pretty cheap for just a basic no frills one. Walmart sells the lost basic ones around 120$, though local electronics stores might have better deals for better ones. I got our bedroom one for 100$ for a 6000 BTU that is programmable.

Pretty decent scene, and you would be within driving distance of Huntsville, Chattanooga, Memphis, Birmingham, and even ATL for shows. Only downsides are the traffic and cost of living being high. Look at Murfreesboro, Spring Hill, Hendersonville or other surrounding towns.

The older I get, the more I find myself wanting to withdraw from fandom and fandom culture, including attending conventions. I just see so much toxicity in the fandoms I’m in, and I’m so over it. The cons I go to, have just become places where people drink snd party, it’s just not for me anymore.
