Last year, the ACLU of Northern California asked the state Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training to investigate and decertify nine current and former Vallejo police officers.

They haven't heard anything since, and are looking for answers.

About 50 volunteers showed up at the former U.S. Army Reserve Center in Vallejo on Saturday morning, some arriving as early as 8 a.m. to continue a nonprofit’s clean-up of trash, appliances, furniture and other materials dumped at the property.

Certified nurse midwives at Kaiser facilities in Northern California are now in their 18th month of negotiating their first union contract.

They staged two strikes this year and say they’re pushing for fair pay, benefits, and flexible schedules.
