The regime declares they are “reclaiming” the day.

The day has always been claimed. The land has always been claimed. Today, in light of those spreading race, hatred and bigotry—we celebrate the strength, resilience, contributions, and cultures of Indigenous peoples everywhere.
As the NH Libertarian Party tweets out: “Please take a moment today to be thankful that Europeans displaced American Indian s——-s.”
Today we celebrated Indigenous Peoples' Day. Given the utter train and racism portrayed by “leaders” around us we thought it was important to honor those who first called this land home.

I tried to explain to her that we are there to promote kindness and peace for democracy. She suggested one of our messages should be “pride.”
Because sure enough…a young girl came up to us and asked what we were doing yesterday in Lebanon. When I told her that we were protesting, her response was “I haven’t seen a lot of peaceful protests.” Her statement broke my heart a bit.
Given the incident, removing swear words and being nicely worded was tough. We’ve had some families walk past us as we’ve been standing on the bridge and ask about our messages. It gave us pause to make sure the message this week was appropriate for younger audience.
When we heard about the raids in Chicago, it was difficult to find messaging that remained “family friendly.”
