Improvements in #fsharp performance over time, big boost in speed with .NET 8 working with a sequence on a linked list:

.NET10 -> 3.2us
.NET9 -> 4.0us
.NET8 -> 4.0us
.NET6 -> 9.1us
.NET Framework 4.81 -> 10.5us

I have no experience with newer versions of EF (except the very first one), but I'm a happy user of Dapper for over 10 years now.
We like to write our own SQL queries and even use only little features of Dapper. And, I never liked the unit-of-work pattern.
I know happy EF users as well, though.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Just distribute a week’s time on the features worked on in this week. Everything more detailed will likely end in devs only working on their time-tracked ticket and stop helping each other and doing all the other things needed to be done without a place to track the time.
