Solas is the one who should be struck by her anger. Fangs dripping with vitriol for the wolf masquerading as a sheep dog - leading them blindly towards his cave instead of the farm house. Cassandra sits with her foolishness until it weighs upon her neck like a noose; mages always…

A whimper in the dark.

Cassandra is ashamed.

Leaning over to dip a threadbare cloth in cool water, she hushes the pained noises spilling from Daine’s cracked lips. Her love stills beneath the damp touch, head listlessly following the sound of Cassandra’s voice. She mumbles something that Cassandra has a hard time making out, but falls back into the Fade as quickly as she’d been roused.

Perhaps she sensed the dark turn of Cassandra’s thoughts; the unfair prejudice she’d fought many years to overcome.

Solas betrayed them, yes, but it had nothing to do with his magic. Like her own sword, magic is simply a tool which follows the path of its caster’s hand.

Daine herself had shown her the beauty of magic when she conjured butterflies instead of lightning bolts. One of their more romantic outings that still ended with Cassandra fighting off a bear.

By the time Tresspasser happens, Daine and Cassandra have been in a strong, steady, romantic relationship for at least a year… maybe 1.5 (still figuring that out) so finding out Solas is an “agent” of Fen'harel hurts Daine, but her heart healed from his vanishing act/break up a while ago.

I understand funerals are for everyone; all of those who were touched by my grandma’s life. I get that. Tell me why her biological grandchildren are the only photos being displayed when I called her grandma for 29 years.

I knew my siblings and I weren’t the “fav” ones but fuck. This hurts so much.

I’ve entered my “numb” era, trying to get through each day. Survived my dad’s 10yr anniversary yesterday & Grandma’s funeral is Monday. Two days of bereavement, I’ll take the third when the schedule allows.

I know who I want comfort from, but I won’t ask. I won’t beg. My heart is ice and stone.
