🧵 A chance comment in a post has led me down a rabbit warren of Interactive Fiction memories, floppy diskettes, and apps on modern devices.

So this is going to be an ongoing thread about text adventure games, such as these “Lost Treasures of Infocom”.

I looked up this CoderDojo that you mentioned.

Turns out there are some clubs local to me too, though they’re either private or inactive by the looks of them.

Still, I had no idea, was curious enough to look.

Funnily enough I was reviewing your Sources list wondering if that was the one, as it drew my eye the most.

You certainly do a wide range of reading for your articles.

That is very cool 🤩 I must confess that I spent way more hours on “Chuckie Egg” than “Commando”. I did not know of this connection before reading this article.

🤯 It boggles my brain that there are people who want to do this. I sort of do and equally don’t want to read up on what drives them towards the uncaring cruelty they're exhibiting. I just do not understand it at all.

✅ I need to read ~75pg to stay on a deadline schedule.
✅ Bake a tray of Cupcakes.
✅ Watch #EstorilWorldSBK races.
🧽 Continue cleaning the patio.
✅ Continue catching up my YT subscriptions backlog.
✅ Play some games.

Not bad, even if I could’ve done more.

📖 Ended this evening’s #HammockTime 😎 by starting @deborahldavitt.com’s “The Carrying Capacity of Paradise”, no.22 of a series of @lunapress.bsky.social Novellas.

All twelve cupcakes have been fully decorated with apple sauce, buttercream, caramel sauce and a pie crumb topping. Each has been placed on a wood chopping board for final presentation.

🧁 Completed this project, with spare Pie Crumb, Buttercream and a Caramel Sauce… perhaps for another batch 🥹

✅ Cored holes in the Cupcakes for the Apple Sauce.
✅ Prepared some Cinnamon Buttercream.
✅ Piped a big blob onto each.
✅ Decorated the top with Caramel Sauce and Pie Crumb.
