She is also a former governor of a state

How is it possible to fail so well upwards?

A good summary of what Ukraine us being asked to accept - and it's the Ukrainian parliament, not "Zelensky" that would decide. US much more interested in normalising trade etc. with Russia. NATO June summit likely to be bad for Europe.
Trump's "final offer" for peace requires Ukraine to accept Russian occupation
The U.S. proposal is expected to be discussed tomorrow in London. Ukrainian officials aren't thrilled.

"Trans women should use toilets according to their biological sex, the equalities minister has said." That's going to be fun, then. "Biological sex" as per the UK Supreme Court, that is. Applies to trans* men too...of course. What could possibly go wrong? #transphobia #lgbtqia+

Happening more and more, it seems; it's cruel and unjust. "Kristen Browde, a 74-year-old trans woman, says that her insurance provider abruptly denied coverage for her estrogen after questioning why she would need it. Browde has been taking her medication, she notes, for a decade" #lgbtqia+

Healthcare for trans* people in the UK seems ever more precarious as family doctors step back from prescribing hormones. Some trans* people say they're suddenly without hormones after as long as 9 years of continuous treatment. This is cruel and wrong. #lgbtqia #transgender

So presumably Vance wants to see British people able to write allegedly 'transphobic' tweets on X and be protected by free speech laws?

Well we have that already. The case was Miller vs College of Policing where Mr Miller successfully relied on Article 10 of the ECHR which applies here.

Happy now?
By "free speech," the Americans mean creating a media environment in your country dominated by American digital fascism preparatory to right-wing regime change. Vance essentially said as much in Munich. Give in now, forget about sovereignty later.

This is evil and awful and trans people everywhere deserve better than what's happening right now.

And I think it's impossible to overtstate the pivotal role that JK Rowling played in mainstreaming hateful and false ideas about trans people. Every dollar you give her goes toward efforts like this.
The U.K. Supreme Court rules that Britain's equalities law defines a woman as someone born biologically female. The ruling means a transgender person with a certificate that recognizes them as female should not be considered a woman for equality purposes.
