Emily Cameron found some wonderful words for her debut at the #bm100 as a photographer. She totally respected and embraced the Spirit of the Event. I hope she is allowed to come back.
2024 Barkiey Marathons Reflections - Prior to ariving in Frozen Head, I was told by other Barkley vets that you/one comes away from the weekend with 60 new frends. I believe this to be so incredibly truthful. The mysteriousness of the Bartley Marathons and the general sentiment around secrecy with regards to the happenings on race weekend is somerning I was very aware of and took very seriously, I had the privilege of being there to do the very thing that honestly can contribute to taking away the allure of the event if not being thoughtful with where I was pointing my camera. I was quite intimidated if I'm being honest. I felt like a bit of an imposter in this tight-knit, internationally represented community. The goal was and is to connect and tell the story of the women present and attempting the 2026 Barkley Marathons. Slowly, I came out of my shell thanks to a few wonderful interviews and silly moments. I had so much hope -like so many Barkley Virgins - that this year there would be a finisher. Over the course of 38 hours - I learned very quickly, you need a lot more than a bucket of hope to finish or even complete a damn lap at this event. I learned that through shared suffering, hardship, and collective insanity-people that run this thing test every single ??? they have for themselves. It was a beautiful thing to witness and an immense responsibility + honor to document. What Laz, Carl and the rest of the Barkley community have created is unlike any other sporting event I have encountered. I hope to return one day, but that is not up to me.

Absolutely LOVING The Racket by @conorniland.bsky.social, a former pro-tennis player who was Ireland's No.1 for years. Grinding it out for years on the lower echelons of the tennis circuit for a chance to MAYBE one day play in a Grand Slam (which he did!) sounds remarkably like the comedy circuit.
