The urge to revive all my old projects because I now have a competent coding assistant shouldn't be this strong.

Just improved the main Consult Now CTA with tabs that show either your contact info or sessions

No idea why that's my header - I get weird when I'm design testing ✌️

Feels really good to be in the testing and polishing phase for Consult. Now

Love obsessing over empty states - want to make sure new users feel welcome. Still deciding on the graphics!

Really loving how interactive the consult.now hero section is.

I want the user to understand they can have multiple vanity URLs and that they should claim their username (aka signup) immediately!

Being the username and domain obsessive that I am, how could I not implement a username checker on the new consult.now landing page*?

FOMO incoming 👀

*it won't look as bad as this I promise

The consult.now user blog post designs are finished.

Auto-generated table of contents based on H tags, share buttons, read time, and 'more posts' by the author in the footer.

Did I completely rip off Substack's designs?

Yes. Yes I did.

I'm so pleased with how the individual booking pages have come out.

Google calendar is fully integrated (surprisingly hard!) and the mobile experience is gorgeous.

Building a calendar booking app from scratch inside our directory was such a fun challenge.

feature requests come in 3 flavors: trivially easy, probably doable, and logically impossible.

And the fun part is until you look closely at how it works you don't know which one you've got
that's something i enjoy about working with computers. sometimes you look at something and are like "that seems pretty similar to something we already solved. how are hard could this be?" and the answer is that it's been proved to be impossibly hard.

Guest booking (and optional guest account creation) is now built into consult.now

This is the most complicated user flow I've ever built!

Good thing I'm a UX nerd 🤓

A 15-minute video call with a potential client beats a 100-question form any day.

You’ll learn more from their tone, pauses, and energy than from any checkbox.

Just spent the past 6 hours integrating Google calendars into Consult Now.

Claude 4.5, you can't design for beans but I love you still.

An excellent tutorial on how to unclog the gramelions from the *entire* hoob-tunnel (hint: ignore the jaggle of the chromus, duh).

I lasted 15 days.

After my first cup of coffee the world literally became more vivid.

I hadn't appreciated how psychoactive coffee is!

I have a new-found appreciation of it, and for that, this experiment was super beneficial.

Life is better with caffeine.
I quit caffeine two weeks ago.

No more jitters. No more crashes. And… no more anxiety?

Just this strange (admittedly sluggish) steadiness that I’m slowly learning to accept.

Here’s what changed: travis.st/caffeine
