I was talking to my wife yesterday about this but I swear in a modern context some ancient church history take for instance pillar sitting or sack cloth and ashes and whipping yourself to feel closer to God kinda comes off as cringe

This time it was remembering how my teachers would force me to fiddle with my ketchup packet that I couldn’t open for like 15 minutes and tell me how I could do it even though I have cerebral palsy which effects your small motor skills
