New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

Disabled people driving luxury cars on your dime? Just the latest rightwing lie peddled by Labour.

Govts stigmatize people claiming benefits as scroungers, claim fraud is rife.

Silence on corporate welfare, tax abuse by corporations/rich. HMRC failed to collect over £500bn tax since 2010.

The Trump administration's foreign policy strategy attacks allies including the UK & has been enthusiastically greeted by the Kremlin. Last month, the USA announced a 'peace deal' the Kremlin had written.

And in the UK, the media is full of people still wibbling about 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'.

This...

We need migration. Plus think of all the cultural benefits!
"Scotland's population hits record high due to migration"

Lots of fuss about this lately but people are missing the fact that deaths are exceeding births, the workforce is ageing and this is what is driving migration as jobs need to be filled.

Scotland's population hits record high due to migration
The number of deaths in 2024 exceeded the number of births, but 56,400 people moved to Scotland.

How sycophantic do they think labour supporters are?
They’re just fucking trolling us now, surely?
Look, I know things aren’t great at the moment for (a) anyone, and (b) the Labour Party, but fuck me that’s bleak

With that "only those useful to society" attitude, the Kindertransports would never have made it to Liverpool Street...
A reminder that this is Labour's "Hostile Environment" policy in action.
It's sickening and pathetic.
This is so disgusting.

This. I only break bread with those I love... Food is my love language. If I work with you and I like you, then you'll already have been invited to eat.

The wider group, not so much
Most work dos are horrific. They really are. I'm dying on that hill. Having to fake laugh at the jokes of the office bully. And paying £50 for the pleasure.

I think Transactual put it best (in reference to the girl guides) and now Labour too:

"There is no problem being solved here, only harm being done."

All to appease the right, who hate them anyway - shame on them.

I've been saying this for several years now. We need policies in place for the tsunami of workers who'll be replaced by AI. But instead of discussing it, we've been letting the fascists distract us with their racism.
James Reed, "We've also seen a collapse in graduate vacancies, this as been going on for 3-4 years now"

"I think it's to do with AI, and new automation in the workplace"

I'm all for AI and innovation, but countries are not preparing themselves for what AI is going to the workplace

A great explanation of how and why investment is the solution to UK economic woes, not further austerity

'Austerity has scarred the UK for the last 14 years. If it wants to finally break free, then it’s time for a radical new approach. And that starts with rethinking how government finances work.'

Not sure if Mr McFadden realises how many members Unite has... Or that the union members listen to what it has to say when it comes to voting.
"I would regret it, but we would survive and move on."

This is how Spanish TV announced the boycott of Eurovision

If Russia is banned for what they're doing to Ukraine, surely Israel should be banned for what they're doing in Palestine?

When is the UK going to boycott Eurovision?
