Great seeing everyone at the 300 West 18th & 19th Streets BA Annual Meeting. Thank you for all you do for our neighborhood. I shared updates on public safety, new mental health laws and protecting our immigrant neighbors, and invited folks to our 12/13 mobile pet adoption event!

Grateful to join the HY/HK BID. From keeping our streets clean and safe to the progress at Bella Abzug Park, BIDs shape vibrant neighborhoods. We need real housing and mental health solutions to keep the West Side strong.

This most recent data released by the New York Times is essential in the fight to speak truth to power and call out the lies spewed from the Whitehouse. That is exactly why I introduced the RADAR Act, to establish the first-in-nation state-wide ICE tracking database.

Today, alongside Sen Pat Fahy, I announced the Immigration Enforcement RADAR Act, which would require New York State to create a public, online dashboard disclosing data on ICE and immigration officials’ activity across the state.

Grateful to join the UFT NY and speak with the educators who shape our city every day. Thank you for all you do for our students and families. I’ll keep fighting in Albany for the resources, protections, and respect our schools and teachers deserve.

Finding and affording childcare in NYC just got a lot easier.
NYC Childcare Navigator helps parents and caregivers find a variety of options right in their neighborhoods, and programs to help cover the costs.
Find childcare in a New York minute!

Today is Black Friday, but consider supporting local businesses in Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen tomorrow, on Small Business Saturday. Our local small businesses are the backbone of our community and economy, let’s support them by shopping local!

Happy Thanksgiving, from myself and Jason, and everyone on Team Simone! Today, and every day, I am thankful to have the honor of serving the West Side in Albany!

Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to join the amazing team at Hudson Guild to provide turkeys & sides for holiday meals to our community. In these times, looking out for our community is more important than ever.

New York’s housing crisis demands action. Co-ops like Penn South keep families stable, but rising costs threaten their future. We must renew and strengthen J-51 through 2035 so co-ops can stay affordable and go green — without pushing residents out.

No one wants those old, gross, outdoor dining sheds back! We want vibrant streetscapes that are clean & clear. But the city has nearly killed outdoor dining. That’s why I support @cmrestler.bsky.social’s bill, which like mine, will save outdoor dining & allow it all year in a responsible way

Thank you to every west sider who came out today to defend our fellow immigrant New Yorkers! A special shout out to Indivisible Harlem, Jesse Greenwald, Chelsea Neighbors United, and every organization and person who made today possible!

With rising attacks on trans people, #TransRemembranceDay calls us to action. We remember those lost far too soon and fight for a future where every trans person can live safely. I’ll always stand strong to protect the rights and dignity of every trans New Yorker.

My arrest at 26 Federal Plaza was about standing up for our immigrant New York families held in cruel conditions. Federal prosecutors agreed to drop charges with conditions, but I’m not done. New Yorkers deserve to know the truth about DHS’s actions at 26 Federal Plaza and beyond.

A huge thank you to the Fulton Houses Tenants Association for once again bringing free turkeys to our community for Thanksgiving. In trying times, community matters more than ever, and helping bring food to our neighbors this season keeps my hope strong.

Even when it’s politically tough, we have a moral responsibility to raise the revenue needed to expand access to health care, child care, food aid, and the services working-class New Yorkers rely on. For us all to succeed, everyone must pay their fair share.

Honored to celebrate 25 years of Fountain House, whose clubhouse model supports New Yorkers living with mental illness through community and purpose. The art—created by their beautiful members I met tonight—shows how creativity heals. As my friend Erica says, art is medicine.
