It feels incorrect that 105 is a multiple of 15.

Indicating that you'd overstay your legal claim to a position doesn't have to mean you'll be there to do it when the time comes. It's not a commitment to even try. It just has to convince the people riding your coat tails that you don't plan to leave them stranded. Sycophants like job security.

I'm fully incapable of believing that Schumer's words, actions, and supporters represent not a bit, not a grift, but a legitimate attempt to limit the power of existential threats to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Rewatching Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda after like 13+ years and I cannot believe this show made it past the first 2 episodes.

I wish I could show up to events and say "Sorry I'm late, someone was wrong on the internet."

It's July and I *still* keep thinking that 2025 is gonna be an interesting year.

I really wish directors would stop forcing their values down audiences' throats. I don't need to know that a character is straight to enjoy the plot, and knowing that kind of ruins it. Focus on the impossible mission or whatever. Skip the wedding scenes or heterosexual households. Story > politics!

LinkedIn is a crazy model because if you never get a job, you know it probably isn't working for you, but if you do get a job, there's a good chance you'll never actually know if LinkedIn was involved. It's like crystals, in that way.

My headcanon is that Dragonite was an earlier discarded draft for what became Charizard, later repurposed by adding it to the Dratini line. Follow me on this journey:

Sometimes growing up means realising that "A girl has no name..." is just anti-legal, anti-social sovereign citizen bullshit _but make it fantasy_.

I guess the upside to using a camera lens as a paperweight is that there's a good chance you'll end the day with a new paperweight. 😭

Deepest sympathies for that terrible choice I mean loss. 😢

I don't know how much actual success they achieve, but I am inclined to give a nod to whoever created the mobile game ad strategy best described as "No, OBVIOUSLY that's not how you solve that puzzle. Here, let me download it and prove how easy it is." You might even catch me slipping one day.

I know the world was dying for my take, so here it is:

I think some of the 100 men could survive conflict with a single adult male gorilla. Many would be severely injured or killed, but it would tire before the 100th human died, I think.

(1/2, part 2 is important)

I've just decided that violas/violists have Healer energy. It naturally follows that cellos are Tanks and violins are DPS. I will not be elaborating.

Trump's trolley problem solution would be "can we get them all onto one track?"

Or maybe "two trains, we're gonna have two trains, and they're gonna be the biggest trains you ever saw, not trolleys, big big trains."

The people saying that Trump needs to learn science are missing the point. Nothing that the US government is doing would be influenced by a better understanding of science on THEIR part. They're relying on the public not understanding science and forgiving the government's "misunderstandings".

Another way to understand wealth inequality:

If you're confused that US powers can do such clearly destructive things, it's because they're confident they personally can survive the fallout. However bad you think it'll get, they've considered that, and are confident that THEY are financially safe.

What's the word for the torrent of hunger and exhaustion that sets in all at once when the 3-hour bardcore YouTube study mix suddenly ends, leaving you in uncomfortable silence with just a pile of papers and whatever product your hyperfocus marathon has wrought?

We wanted them to admit that "Protect Israel" and "Protect Ukraine" were incompatible moral stances, but I don't think "Protect Russia" is what anyone was going for.
