Dan Quinn did not provide any injury updates today, including on Sam Cosmi's possible return from PUP.

When asked broadly about the O-Line, though, he said he's looking forward to seeing "how we'll work different people back into different spots." Said updates coming tomorrow.

Dan Quinn was asked about getting over this Bears loss. He said that's not really the approach. Wants the team to "lean into" the game and learn from it.

"It's the kind of loss that pisses you off," he said. But it also "can have some real meaning, if you lean into it."

Can confirm the Commanders are signing DE Drake Jackson.

Jackson is an ex-49er, coming off a knee injury. Was a second-round pick back in 2022 but is still just 24 years old.

Believe it or not, he shares a birthday (date and year) with Bill Croskey-Merritt.

"It’s one thing for a tough league and a tough schedule to make things difficult for a team with designs on playing for the sport’s shiniest prizes," @barrysvrlugawp.bsky.social writes. "It’s another for that team to make things difficult for itself." www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...
Column | The NFL season is a haul, and the road is now rougher for Washington
After losing their grip on a promising start by giving one away, the Commanders face the costs of getting it back.

It's not just that the Commanders committed three turnovers last night, but also that they didn't force any.

Dan Quinn on the minus-3 turnover margin: "You really don’t deserve to win many games when you’re in that space."

To hang on to their season, the Commanders need to hang on to the ball
After Monday night’s deflating loss, Washington players and coaches weren’t fumbling for answers on what’s needed to get back on course.

#Commanders QB Jayden Daniels on his fumble: "I’m not finna sit up here and blame it on the elements. At the end of the day, I got to focus. ... I had a lack of focus right there and it cost us the game.”

After Jayden Daniels’s late fumble, the Bears stun the Commanders
After Daniels’s miscue, Jake Moody’s field goal on the final play gave Chicago a 25-24 win as the late-game dramatics went the Bears’ way this year.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt says he's still got a lot of confidence in himself, but knows he's got to "be better" coming off his recent fumbles.

Dan Quinn always talks about "winning time moments." Fumbling a handoff with the lead in the fourth quarter is the opposite.

Hard to go minus-3 in turnover margin and win.

Bears kicker Jake Moody lines up for a 38-yarder with 3 seconds left and... drills it. Bears win 25-24.

The Commanders hold a narrow 24-22 lead and the Bears have the ball back with less than three minutes to play after recovering a fumble.

Ooh boy. Fumbled exchange between Jayden Daniels and Jacory Croskey-Merritt on 3rd and 1.

Bears take over at their own 44, down 24-22 with 3:07 to play.

The Bears had been 1 for 7 on third down.... until that.

A missed tackle by Quan Martin on the sideline results in a 55-yard touchdown by Swift. 2-point conversion is no good.

Commanders 24, Bears 22 with 10:26 left

Jayden Daniels drop a beauty into Jaylin Lane down the sideline, then hits a diving Zach Ertz in the back of the end zone two plays later.

Ertz has had a quiet start to the season. Up to 6 catches for 43 yards and the score.

Commanders 24, Bears 16 with 11:27 left in 4Q

Lots of analysis of the Commanders' offense and defense. But gotta say: The special teams units, save for a few Matt Gay misses, have been money just about all year.
tomschad.bsky.social
Luke McCaffrey was about as wide open as you can be on that 33-yard TD catch. His third TD catch in four games. Kliff is fired up.

Commanders 17, Bears 16 with 2:56 left in 3Q

Dorance Armstrong, whose hamstring appears OK, loops all the way around to sack Caleb Williams on 3rd down in the red zone. Bears settle for a third Moody FG.

Bears 16, Commanders 10 with 8:05 left in 3Q

Washington seemed to be in business after a nice return out of the half, and a classic scramble by JD5. But an intentional grounding call and 3rd-down drop by McNichols end the drive. Matt Gay hits from 53.

Bears 13, Commanders 10 with 11:59 left in 3Q

Halftime: Bears 13, Commanders 7

Pretty evenly matched so far. Commanders' defense has had some good stops. Turnovers (and the Matt Gay doink there near the end of the half) the difference so far.
tomschad.bsky.social
Actually, it begs the question: Was that a first-of-its-kind challenge?

Can't imagine there have been many (if any) challenges of a 1-yard gain on 1st down, in a non-TD situation.
tomschad.bsky.social
Bears go for it on 4th and 1 in FG range... and throw it... and don't get it. Lucky not to be picked off by Frankie Luvu there.

Big stop by the Commanders' D after a weird sequence that included, among other things, a challenge over a 1-yard gain.
tomschad.bsky.social
Remarkable 22-yard touchdown grab by Chris Moore. Happened right in front of the press box and didn't look he stayed in bounds... but he did.

Bears 13, Commanders 7 with 9:28 left in 2Q
tomschad.bsky.social
Caleb Williams keeps it around the right edge and squeezes past the pylon for the first TD of the night.

Chicago turns two Washington turnovers into 10 points.

Bears 13, Commanders 0 with 14:18 left in 2Q
tomschad.bsky.social
And now Bill coughs it up. That's two turnovers in 13 minutes for a Commanders offense that had, for the most part, done a terrific job taking care of the ball so far this season.

Bears take over on Washington's 35.
tomschad.bsky.social
Another Bears drive, another Bears field goal. Gonzaga's own Caleb Williams with a bit of an up-and-down start so far.

Bears 6, Commanders 0 with 2:27 left in 1Q
