That's a short contract. A big problem for many teams "kicking the tires" on Murakami was the uncertainty - will he be able to handle MLB pitching? This will give teams a chance to see what he is, and try again in 2 years, while giving him good money in the meantime. I think it will go like this:

With their current roster, the Red Sox could field this all-speed lineup for some games in 2026. Every player with above league average speed, most by a lot.
