So apparently these new antibiotics I'm taking can cause an elevated heart rate & anxiety. Maybe I'm not detoxing from codeine?? Either way, hoping it'll start to resolve on Friday bc this absolutely sucks. Only good new is that it seems to have sorted my gastro issue - maybe 🤞

They've jumped straight to the bottom line, ignoring all the failed experiments, exploratory studies etc that result in getting to the right question and the right method. If you don't do the mahi first, you're gonna get shit answers. Future generations will see the consequences, sadly

Tautoko Deb. We have a slightly better understanding of the actively dying, but absolute rubbish understanding of what it means to be both dying and functioning, and the length of time we can be in that space. Years even!

❤️❤️ When my grandfather reached that point, he had cats visiting him! He spent ages reaching out to them and laughing at the things they were doing. It was weirdly lovely and such a great reflection of who he was.

The answer isn't to dismiss the value of 'allies' - it's not even possible to do what Che Guavara did bc ethnicity is the key point in Aotearoa. But I'm frustrated with the handful of ppl who use 'ally' to create their self-image & expect gratitude & validation.

I think it's one of the hardest part of the colonial-decolonial journey, to see that the feel-good factor is a part of the problem. I don't for a moment ask that people return their farms etc, but being honest about receiving benefits from colonisation seems like a good start to the conversation

I want to keep highlighting & reposting! My final quote: "Settlers cannot be “allies” to Indigenous ppls while remaining settlers. Their existence as beneficiaries of colonisation depends on the continuation of the colonial order."

Be honest about it. Don't claim allyship then go home to the farm.

I love this - it's why I struggle with being asked to validate 'allies' by speaking alongside them. Sometimes their desperation to have that public validation is quite brutal, privately.

Pretty sure I'm detoxing from suddenly stopping a pretty big dose of codeine I've been on for the last few months. Didn't think it through & do not like - but I'm probably 5 days in (without realising what it was) so should hopefully abate soon. My skin feels too tight & my aura hurts 😵‍💫

Andrew Hoggard says he will allow cancer-linked glyphosate to be increased by 100 x in our food production.

He's also ignored a High Court order telling farmers to remove cruel farming practices around pigs - extending the 2025 due date out by 10 years. This is ACT #nzpol #kiwi
