Morgen staat Pieter Wittenberg voor de Griekse rechter. Omdat hij mensen in nood hielp met dekens, water, voedsel en medische zorg, riskeert hij 10-20 jaar gevangenisstraf. Aanklacht: lid van een criminele organisatie. Vorig jaar bespraken we de gevolgen van het grensbeleid.👇🏼

Je kunt niet jarenlang migranten en asielzoekers vernederen, opjagen en criminaliseren en dan verbaasd zijn over de vurige haat en intimidatie die dat zaait. Misschien dringt nu eindelijk door dat racisme een directe bedreiging vormt voor de dem rechtsstaat en dus een gevaar is voor ons allemaal.

De verkiezing van Dodik’s stroman houdt de Bosniërs in de greep van corruptie, nepotisme en etnische verdeeldheid door hun politieke leiders. Hoog tijd dat de EU de kant van burgers kiest en hervormingen eist die het land en de democratie eindelijk verder helpen.

This is especially the case for Hungarian LGBTQIA+ people, who have been scapegoated by the Orbán government and are being portrayed as a threat to children – an implication that is simply wrong and disgusting.

Bezuinigen op mensen die al in een kwetsbare positie zitten, is niet alleen erg voor hen. Het is ook schadelijk voor onze samenleving.
