Unpopular opinion:
I prefer this song to Crush On You. I love its Prince-ly, funky groove.

Crazy to think these songs are 40 years old now.

I find it quite moving reading all of the Rob Reiner tributes. I've noticed that everyone, whatever their tastes, considers at least one or more of his films to be a definitive classic of their genre.

I hadn't heard this in a while: The original version of the theme tune to the BBC TV quiz show Telly Addicts. It was by George Fenton & sounds to me like if The Art of Noise covered the Gremlins rag by Jerry Goldsmith. Later versions ditched the cool synths for rock. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHo-...

I think Misery is a perfect horror film. Rob Reiner really brought out of it the terror of delusion. The hero and villain are both vulnerable and at times both charismatic. It’s quite amazing what it accomplished in terms of pace, suspense and atmosphere, when it’s mostly two people in a house.

41 years ago, big-screen Supergirl was listening to Howard Jones. Now she's discovered Blondie.

It's amusing to me that Superman III included Giorgio Moroder movie songs, and in this new universe, Supergirl listens to a Giorgio Moroder movie song of that era.
Look out. #Supergirl lands in theaters June 26.

This charming 4 minute film by Daniel Moses deserves way more views! A deeply nostalgic approach to memory and senses; I love it and am sure you will too.

OMG! This is amazing! Finally! The original unaltered theatrical version of 'Star Wars' in wide release in 2027. I hope it doesn't even have "Episode IV" at the front (despite being there from '81):

Quartet Records are releasing a new edition of the Henry Mancini soundtrack to Santa Claus The Movie. It uses the newly found complete first-generation 2″ 24-track set.

In my opinion, it's easily the best Christmas movie score soundtrack that will ever exist. quartetrecords.com/product/sant...

A fascinating thread for anyone interested or working in modern post production.
This is absolutely real. The current HBO Max version of this "Mad Men" episode "remastered for 4K" did not include an updated visual effects shot, which originally painted out the crew and equipment. Not just that, the HBO Max episode titles/order is jumbled for s01.
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

On his latest podcast, Roger Deakins notes how he learned a lot and was informed from shooting documentaries, but never thought he worked on a very good one.

The masked burglar broke into the closed Virginia liquor store early on Saturday and hit the bottom shelf. The bandit was something of a nocturnal menace: bottles were smashed and alcohol pooled on the floor.

The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.

I really enjoyed Wicked For Good. The Wickeds will be beloved classics to many children who see them at the cinema, taken by their bittersweet messages regarding the pain of othering, privilege & the need for critical thinking, imaginatively extending the Oz world.
