People who can afford $90,000 watches should be illegal.
This is my sole policy platform.

Actually, that should be vile, self-centred, dirty old man.

Govt to cut #JobSeeker benefit for 18 & 19 year olds who’s parents earn over $65,000, even if the teens have a disability or health condition. With #CostOfLiving & the job shortage they’re cranking up stress levels to 11, all to meet a target.
My #cartoon today about hard-nosed #NZpol
Cartoon. Title: “Job Seeee-e-e-e” Image shows PM Christopher Luxon at the open hatch of a small plane, high above farmland. He’s leaning out, and holding up a parachute pack, labelled “Job Seeker” He’s calling out to someone falling from the plane, “And I’ve kept your parachute because you kids from low-income homes need some motivation” Then he adds, “Don’t let that disability slow you down!”

It’s probably little more than the price of two of Luxon’s houses. It’s an insult to Samoa.

#nzpol Sometimes a policy is so stupid it makes you question the very fabric of reality. Decisions so fabulously, almost wantonly dumb, you wonder if we actually live in a simulation. Welcome to the world of removing Jobseeker Support for 18 & 19-year-olds. craigrenney.substack.com/p/a-small-wr...
A small wrinkle in the Jobseeker policy
The government’s recent changes to benefits feel like this: the house is on fire, and this policy is them turning off the smoke alarm and saying it’s fixed

Stupidity in a nutshell. Spending $200m to subsidise the most expensive fuel for a power plant - diesel. And remember we as consumers pay for the most expensive power generated at the time it is produced.

$200m would have been better spent on residential solar and battery schemes...
Big new diesel power plant will help in energy crises, says Marsden Point chief
Once, govt looked to build a zero carbon green power plant at the Northland oil terminal; now things have changed. Jonathan Milne reports.

Unbelievable levels of victim blaming and an insane lack of empathy. Truly the most crooked moral compass.

Look. What I say to you is this.

We admit the electricity market has failed and high prices and supply risks are screwing households and businesses.

We're doing nothing to stop the profits but offering taxpayers' money for the dirtiest, most expense generation out there: fossil fuels.

To answer the question in the headline:

Because when you’re dealing with the criminal outcomes of a genocide and crimes against humanity it makes perfect sense to have a war criminal as your leader and public face.

Canterbury regional council rubber stamps 18,467 more dairy cows to add to the landscape scale contamination of freshwater. Many (all?) consents not publicly notified. Regional and central govt are treating Canterbury as a sacrifice zone for dairy corporations. newsroom.co.nz/2025/09/29/t...
Thousands more cows: Why they’re allowed and where they’ll go
Canterbury’s milked dairy herd could increase by more than 18,000 cows – some in areas where water quality is already poor
