The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

looks like dc *IS* going to implement ranked choice voting in time for june 2026 primaries. we will likely have a chance to elect at least 3 new council members (bonds, nadeau, and mcduffie are officially out); as well as a new mayor (bowser is also officially out).

local holiday market in navy yard! tingey plaza just opened this afternoon. mix of jewelry, body goods, food, sports, and a lot in between. plus an outdoor area with food & drink. open tonight until 9pm and then this weekend 11-6 each day. 101 tingey street se near the usdot hq.

re: atlanta -- i thought marta rail was cheap, with actually good headways, and was broadly functional. aesthetically, trains are a bit long in the tooth. and some station architecture hasn't aged as well. but otherwise a perfectly good heavy rail system for a city of half-million+.

lots of construction this time, including marta and some of the historical sites. mostly everyone is still very nice though.
