idk we live in a society right now that's extremely flaky and people don't commit and don't show up or constantly cancel last minute, and I think it's so important to actually show up and be there in whatever way is possible for you, even if it's sometimes inconvenient or uncomfortable

I think about this regularly because I can't imagine it's the only time this has ever happened (the police REGULARLY ignore evidence, don't bother talking to suspects, etc.) but this one was just so egregious. and that medical examiner fucked up SEVERAL cases to the point idk how he still had a job

Her and her family's killers were eventually caught, with almost zero help from the local police, and the medical examiner changed the cause of death afterwards, but it was the most infuriating thing I've ever read and it has haunted me ever since I read about it. Fuck the police

She and her family were found dead in their home in the '70s, and the police went "yep looks like she killed everybody and then herself" despite NO WEAPON ON THE SCENE and absolutely no evidence pointing to her as the culprit, like, AT ALL. The medical examiner also ruled it a suicide.

Now that the fic is live, I can tell you a thing that hinges the plot together is that the police and coroner declare Nie Zonghui's death a suicide despite there being no gun anywhere on the scene. This is, unfortunately, A Real Thing That Happened to Diana Wanstrath.

i JUST got home after being out for nearly 10 hours and tell me why my friend texted me "racheeelllll come to [xyz] the dollz are here" NO auntie is DEHYDRATED and my feet hurt i am not going to a FOURTH location to see the same 32 people I've been seeing all weekend 😭
