I genuinely pity people who think keeping Kylo Ren evil was a good idea. It was set up since The Force Awakens that Leia would be the one to save him down the line.

Keeping him evil and killing him evil is a fundamental betrayal of the franchise's core themes of redemption and forgiveness.

I have already harped on this in detail before, but making Kylo the villain would’ve meant losing his cathartic redemption that made The Rise of Skywalker great.

Duel of the Fates only has Coruscant/Finn to prop it up; everything else about it is tonally OFF from the rest of the sequels.

Abootuely not. Not only does it go against the very blatant setup that Leia would pull Ben back to the light, it also just spits in the face of the franchise. "Sorry, the son of Han and Leia is completely irredeemable and we should kill him!" is not what Star Wars is about.
