Everyone grows up thinking the stuff they were exposed to as a child was the best, but it’s a headfuck to’ve grown up with what may objectively really be the greatest filmmaker of all time scored by the greatest film composer of all time with posters drawn by the greatest poster artist of all time.

RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

My hot take is that none of these are structure. These are all recipes that describe structure.

Structure is the Salt, Fat, Acid Heat of writing.

3-Act/Hero's Journey etc are recipes.

You can make great meals without using a recipe if you understand the principles of structure.

I hear ya. TM got super greedy with “Official Platinum” prices for this. My favorite mid-bowl seats at the Forum were 2-3 times their usual price, so I went nosebleed. 🤷‍♂️

oh wow, the early reports are that the new Tron movie isn’t doing very well at the box office. this is wild, because the last Tron movie didn’t do very well at the box office, and also the very first Tron movie didn’t do very well at the box office and also neither of those first two were very good.
