November 15 1996, Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey debuted on the N64 in the Americas!
Not only were all the skating animations done by taping Gretzky himself, being a Midway product there were originally going to be Mortal Kombat style finishers (which the NHL vetoed)...and didn't make it to retail!
