Thessa & Persephone the Rescue Sisters, back in 2020 when they were just beginning to trust humans again. They would have been approximately 4-6 months old here, I think. Thessa is the calico, Persephone the sable. At the time they did everything together.

#catsofbluesky #cat #void #calicocat
A calico and a black cat, sharing a pink and green blanket near a glass door. The calico has her white paw possessively over her sisters shoulder. They both look a little thin and are at the awkward post-kitten age, made worse by the extreme neglect and malnutrition these sisters experienced in their kittenhood before they were rescued.

Summer is incoming. Went swimming yesterday, even though it is early days yet. It's the right time for a giant lobster! Plus, it is in Surf Life Saver colours. What's not to like?

Word for "cool beyond measure" almost universally used by our various First Nations peoples, across the continent. It has half a dozen origin stories, lekely all of them wrong.

If an Aussie calls something deadly, they like it.

It's complicated. Context dependant. Half the yanks on here seem to be using "baddie" as a description of fascists, at the same time as many people from everywhere seem to be quoting 1980s Michael Jackson songs in a positive frame.

Now, "deadly" I can understand. But then, I'm an old Aussie.

Interesting. Thankyou for explaining.

Here, on a school bus the kids all zoom for seats, and on a public bus, there are two or more doors, front, back, sometimes middle, and I guess doors don't become an issue as much.

Does lead to "the doors on the bus go squeak sqeak squeak" though.

Says what?

Huh. I guess it's a local variation, but ours is "sit back down" now that he doesn't say "tickets please", seeing as tap-and-go started a decade or more ago.

"Move on back" seems.... Worrying somehow.

Nice to know the boycott is working, good to see. Well done, Canadians!

It's not oil. It's a frictionless slurry of rainwater and microplastics (from the grinding of car tyres during the dry), and it is really dangerous.

If the tail is seen, you know their nature. Look for the leaf in their hair. If the leaf is removed, the person turns back into a fox, and flees....

This serms a very "Girl Genius comic" conversation. Very Mechanicsburg.

A calico cat on a green wool blanket outside in the grass. She is sittingwith a leg out awkwardly, licking her own nose with a long pink tongue.

This. Or you know, Trek and Babylon space opera outfits in general. Jackets alone are fascinating, and footwear, leaving out jewellery which is a treasure trove (if you would forgive the expression) of imagination.

i would pay good money for the menswear guy to do a breakdown of how he knows Garak isn't a real tailor based on his fits
Elim Garak wears a red and bronze number with a sort of mishmash of stripes on it Elim Garak wears a blue and turquoise top with horizontal stripes and also a sort of vest that only covers his shoulders Garak wearing a leopard print starfleet uniform. Where did he find it? Garak, looking frustrated, wears a fetching turtleneck with animal print sleeves

They make great keycodes, especially if not otherwise associated with you, historically speaking.
thisfoxhere.bsky.social
Yep, everyone of our generation does. It's like we knew we would need long nonsense sequences of numbers we could remember every time.

This looks like a "Why is this person always flocked by insects & covered in flies?" problem. Seriously weird soap choices.

I at least have the investment enough to put a picture in my ikon, enviroaggie.

But yeah, spent a week there, being a pedestrian, and been to ~25 other states for at least a week so far (more but only for a few days each, we drove about a lot) And that's my observations in the US.

We were waiting outside the Uni pub recently, & my friend pointed out every piece of music they played (too loud) on the speakers in the (deserted) building was music we listened to in Uni pubs in the 90s, long before these Uni students were born. Really weird.

It was not a retro night, checked.

DC had buttons with plates bolted over them, or zebra crossings without lights.

It was an annoying place because that was where our map device kept insisting that DC drivers drove on the left, like us, instead of on the right, because we had reset it to kilometres. Worked fine in Virginia.
thisfoxhere.bsky.social
Interesting. What does the number mean?
thisfoxhere.bsky.social
Been to a lot of their towns & cities, east coast and central (for some reason never been to the west coast yet) and have very rarely seen a pedestrian crossing with working buttons, often they don't have buttons at all. Never in the cities, honestly.

Sorry what.
Obedient to who?

I guarantee to yiu they will find a way to turn it back on for you many times.
thisfoxhere.bsky.social
Charitable thought.

More likely they turn it back on for you, every time it restarts, until you cannot turn it off any more, then just leave it on for good.

Yeah, one of my work schools insists on the same, I only use the microsoft suite in a Firefox browser, it constantly tries to instal the malware and my machine keeps helping me reject the download, thank goodness.
