Messages are generally read in the mood of the reader not the sender? Anyway, as always thanks for the info
then the photo has just been used to illustrate a point. Either way it really isn’t that deep
I was showing you Wikipedia because someone else had put 1915 which it couldn’t be, if indeed they are even at Aisne. Which again neither of us were there. I was pointing out the 1st was 1914 the 2nd 1917 so couldn’t be 1915. Again though, if you are (and I am sure you will be) right about the date
If it bothered me that much would it not be simpler just to block you, rather than wasting time going backwards and forwards? Maybe it is the tone of your messages when you are picking the posts apart 🤷‍♂️
I am not taking it as a personal attack - you said previously I just scan random photos - I was showing you were I found the photo. I went with their caption. I’m saying if I am wrong which you say I am - you should perhaps let them know as well 🤷‍♂️
German soldiers use trees for cover - Aisne, France 1917. Fought between 16th April to 9th May the Second Battle of the Aisne resulted in 355,000 casualties; 182,000 French and 163,000 German #wa1 #worldwar1 #ww1history #history #france #aisne

Far more qualified than me but perhaps as equally qualified as you and your sources. I’ll keep posting and you can keep pulling them to pieces. Whatever makes you happy, I guess 😉
I can’t tell whether that is the same Jagdtiger so good on you if you can. As for scanning photos from random books - it is a hobby.I never said I was a historian. The books / encyclopaedia / actual paper documents have been collected over many years and all produced by educated and qualified people
Again assuming that is 305 004 in the picture. I have found over the years that the same pictures are often used with different narratives to illustrate the authors work, but if it makes you feel better I will go with your narrative. You are better informed than me.
One would think so but again due to the length of time passed no one can ever say for sure. The one at Bovington could be the one in my picture, it could also be the one lost during Operation Nordwind - who knows? 🤷‍♂️ Great picture and great bit of kit though eh?
US technicians repair a B-17 Flying Fortress’ landing gear after it was damaged during Operation Frantic - Poltava airfield, Ukraine, 1944 #ww2 #worldwar2 #paltava #ukraine #flyingfortress #b17 #boeing #usaaf #usairforce
