Everything shoved over onto the finished-floor section. It’s coming along!

More weaving! Shop still in progress - I’ll get back to woodworking soon, I promise.

The purple band is a “nonsense” band. No specific pattern other than when you move “forwards” you produce an M, and “backwards” makes a W. The change between gives you 2-3 dots, depending when you switch.
We see you are stabbing sharp things through the fabric. We too can stab with sharp things!
Ok seriously… what’s the deal with cats and fabric? I break out a new project and suddenly I have helpers.

Missing my ND found-family too. If you’re ever down here give me a buzz!
Shop isn’t quite set up yet (still ripping up glued-down carpet), but made enough workspace to finish an iPad rack for a Science class.

Thank you to the @rockler.bsky.social guys at Burnsville for assisting with my new router. It works great!

That’s my goal for this Sunday. Wish me luck!
A brief Side Quest brought to you by “I need trim for my garb so I can go in appropriate gear to sell my woodworking… it’s expensive… I’m sure I can make it myself…”

Yes yes, I spent about 30 years avoiding tablet weaving. Now look what happened. I blame my Mom & friend Mary Liz.

New She-Shed… but need to scrape (yes scrape - I cannot pull) the old carpet up because they over-glued it. I pull, and it just starts unraveling. My biceps & triceps are going to be *amazing* when it’s done!
Gah! I immediately tried to search for it... and it was *gasp* GONE! Beautiful piece. Love the subtle color changes in the neck.
The Shop / She-Shed is CLOSED. It's all boxed up for our move. This summer will be spent getting our new house in order, so there will be NO TIME for outside projects. Hopefully come Fall/Winter things will calm down enough, but at the moment all commissions are closed.
The steps:
1. Design the pattern! What colors go where, how many stitches...
2. Mark the holes on the wood backer
3. Tap a point onto each mark to help guide your drill bit (VERY important step)
4. Drill holes, preferably while listening to music
5. Recess back
6. Seal
7. Stitch
8. Backer-board
Hahaha! It's done! Pokemon starter trio cross-stitched onto a wooden pokeball. Pokeball is made from bloodwood, ebony, and maple. Example piece for my class in May.

Entelodauntlets FTW!
Neanderthal concepts for Professor Primula’s Portfolio of Palaeontology, a brand-new playable character included in the book. We’re now in the final stretch of the Kickstarter campaign—with just 3 days remaining!
Ok... the entelodauntlets are amazing!
My daughter had a few boxes of Girl Scout cookies left to sell, so we made up some "dragon-snails". People could adopt-a-snail (for the price of 3x boxes of cookies), and get 3x FREE boxes of cookies! Such a deal!

One (rear) had garnet cabochon eyes, and the other (front) had tigerseye cab eyes.
Sorry it’s been quiet. Getting ready to move states, buying / selling houses, while preparing to teach another class AND find a new job! It’s been busy.

Here’s an in-progress piece I’m working on over lunch hours.

One case of cookies. Slightly fuzzy… check for mold!
Weather was perfect for some frost rime on leaf litter.

Took a class on making antler handles for knife blanks. Here’s my Mora “companion” in a tine from a whitetail shed, with a little ebony bolster (added at home when I glued everything up). Had extra time, so made an antler tine needle as well!
I love gorgonopsians - this is awesome!
End of Day 2 kuksa carving class. My cup is looking like a big chonky borb - good so far! A lot of refining to go. Inside is slightly fluted.
Taking a kuksa cup class at the Milan, MN Village Arts School. 3-day class taught by Alex Yerks.
