Playing Caves of Qud a lot recently, the worldbuilding is pretty great but if I had a complaint its that there are clearly characters that are dev faves like Q-Girl or the Svardim in the Yd Freehold that expound on left-wing anarchism and I'm not sure if the devs realise they're actually communalist

This is a general question for everyone who reads (feel free to repost) but @wellawoods.bsky.social was the first person I had sought to ask: are there any recommended resources available for complete rank beginners to illustration? Mainly in anatomy, architectural detail and weaponry

www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO6Z... really underrated feature about DM it all is the choice of chapter music, feels really carefully curated to fit the tone of dark pulp

Played through the original Baroque PSX game, kinda got bored so didn't get the final ending though. I do love how it pretends to be a Neoplatonist game at first but reveals itself to be Spinozist in disguise.

Never not thinking about the horse that says Benny Hill in LotR

I'm a TTRPG nerd so of course I'd think this but I think everyone should indulge in a bit of worldbuilding from time to time, feels like something we ought to do more as a therapeutic creative exercise. Share it with others, engage with other's worlds and adapt them. Or not!

If I could make one film it would be as a finale to the Exorcist films where the science overlaps with the occultism and a priest using the hypno mind synching machine introduced in 2 assumes the mantle of God by possessing Jesus Christ across space and time

My "gifted child syndrome" moment was at age 30 when my mother called me a genius for saying she could put the laptop on the toilet seat to watch shows in the bath

I think it's doubtful this online safety act is going to make it to this year but surveillance issues aside I feel the complaint is mostly having to look into your own eyes as you're really about to regain discord access to The Cakefart Zone

Sidney Sweeney tries to do this and succeeds with a certain cohort but it's the combination of being unearthly in your attractiveness that is the true killer
Getting dreamy-eyed at Grace Jones, but being the most impossibly attractive-featured woman in the world and having that flirtatiousness to everyone you meet is such an absurdly powerful combo

Getting back into fantasy/sword and sorcery schlock a lot recently and watched Conan the Destroyer again. A thing I really like which might be a negative in any other film is how sparse all the dialogue is which feels kind plausible as to how a bunch of proto languages may have understood each other

Babygirl is really quite good, I like how it plays out as a dialectical sex therapy process from desire to childhood regression to fetish to its eventual sensual resolution.

Is there a cyberpunk TTRPG where you basically get to all be babe assassins à la Aeon Flux, Ghost in the Shell etc. If not who wants to make one

Malcolm McDowell is an actor who has the comportment of having been dead a long time, but no he's still kicking and it always gives me a surprise

i don't have a strong sense of how but it really seems to me the scale of the insanity in the US is unintelligible without the need for repressing the filling-to-the-brim mass consciousness of gaza

That D&D film is legit good, a franchise that honestly should have been given more of a chance and it would have had a big following I think

Playing Pillars of Eternity proper and while I'm enjoying it well enough I don't like how sparse they give descriptions of what you see, it's like I'm just kind of wandering through paintings, which would be fine if it also wasn't super explicit in dialogue what's going on!

Watching Evangelion for the first time ever, only up to 13 rn.
I remember a lot of readings hammering Shinji for his inability to accept responsibility and for the evil shit he does by the end but he really does seem to be the only one actually willing to countenance the absurdity of the situation
