With the Paul Dano & Matthew Lillard controversy (& no one defending Wilson), is NOW a good time to mention: Telling a fictional story surrounded by nonfictional history which u alter at the end for SHOCK VALUE isn't great filmmaking. It's childish storytelling. Esp'ly if there's ZERO foreshadowing.

😆 100% correct...but I also don't think Tarantino was wrong about either of those guys and their dramatic work (I know, I know—I'm controversially in the minority). That said, Dano in Little Miss Sunshine is probably his best perf imo.

Also, Tarantino should NEVER be in ANY movies, esp'ly his own!
FROM DUSK TILL DAWN would have been better if it starred Matthew Lillard and Paul Dano.

Read ish 1 of Universal Monsters: Frankenstein, from Image's Skybound. Gorgeous. Story takes place in nooks & crannies between scenes of Whale's 1931 movie. But, um, the end seems to (I think inadvertently) indicate Fritz is going to, erm, molest this child? Not sure how else to read the last line.

If, somehow, you've never see THE IN-LAWS, starring Columbo's Peter Falk & The Rocketeer's (and Little Miss Sunshine's) Alan Arkin, you can WATCH IT FREE on FANDANGO! And you absolutely should—NOW!

Another gorgeous shot from Web of Spider-Man Annual #2. Art Adams really showing Spidey using his body to swing himself up toward the rooftops.

What REALLY needs to be talked about is the back-up story w/art from Mike Mignola! 3rd pic, panel 4: Inspiration for Art the Clown? 🧵🧵

Been watching the failed THREE'S COMPANY spinoff THREE'S A CROWD. It's as unwatchable as I remembered. Halfway thru its sole season, they brought in Jessica Walter (whom I knew from MASH spinoff series TRAPPER JOHN, MD & thought was fairly sexy)... & she's basically playing Lucille Bluth (in 1985):

A big fan of WEB OF SPIDEY back in the day, was shocked to see that GORGEOUS Vess cover & realize I don't own it! So I goggled. Gen'ly well-written by underrated Ann Nocenti, it's NOT great. But Art Adams drew a FUN book & check this EXPERTLY scripted panel written for that first-time Spidey reader:

Movie theaters forever‼️

(but I wish they'd do a better job at ensuring the movie-going experience!! [i.e., keep people off their phones during screenings!])

Would love to, just once, at a teaser trailer that honestly states:

DISAPPOINTED!

This panic over the Netflix/WB deal is NOT overblown. It is ABSOLUTELY terrible for the industry. Netflix is NOT a company that has been historically friendly to filmmakers (w/rare exceptions) & is not a company vested in the moviegoing experience.
