Horror movies can be elegantly constructed metaphors for the human condition AND fun times at the cinema with monsters. At the same time.

Saying "It's good because it's not really a horror movie" because you think it's deep and complex is not the compliment you think it is.

Once I asked my mom about what it was like to grow up as a teen in the 1950’s in the #RGV where Mexicanos had been lynched, deported just for being Brown, expelled for speaking Spanish - “we kept singing, we spoke Spanish mijo, we prayed, we cooked, because sometimes, una oración was all we had.”

These CA tomato pickers make 86¢ per bucket. The worker runs back to try and make as many buckets as they can. Because of the hot weather they often only work 4 to 5 hours a day, so every bucket counts towards paying their bills. #WeFeedYou
