We just shipped a desktop version of Rowboat that runs fully offline: rowboat.net

It's silly fast, the app loads almost instantly, and you can plunk a multiple gigabyte dataset into it and it just starts spilling out answers.

Lots more in the pipeline; try it out and send us your feedback!
We just launched a desktop version of Rowboat!

* Open much larger files (offline!)
* Own Desktop as a one-time purchase.
* Use a double-clickable app that’s even faster than the web version.

Browser or desktop, your data never leaves your machine.

All new Island release v.0.15.1 adds a new platform (and CPU architecture): Raspberry Pi5 (arm64). Hot-reloading and callback forwarding works (wrote some arm assembly for that)!

I've added special README #Vulkan 1.3 on RPi5: github.com/tgfrerer/isl...

Really enjoyed talking with @geoffreybunting.bsky.social about the OpenKinect project. Can’t believe it’s been 15 years since we got the Kinect open sourced. Was a ton of fun at the time and it totally changed our project workflow. Going to have to dig up some old screenshots.
Happy birthday to the Microsoft Kinect, a device I dearly hope to never write about again. For @theverge.com, I recounted the history of its hacking and the echoes of an older, now unreachable, internet that resound in its story. Also, AI, because… 2025.

Absolutely loving Viriconium by M. John Harrison. Some of the quotes are just so good.

Very excited to finally share openly what I have been working on, Project Graph. Adobe's newest app we started with a handful of talented individuals last year. I'm so proud of the team and what we are building.

DJ’d a Halloween party. First DJ set in a long time but so much fun. Lots of Fred Again, Barry Can’t Swim, Jamie XX and a little Italo Disco thrown in for good measure.

We have finally released our new puzzle, the Flummoxagon! We've done more tweaking and playtesting on this than any other puzzle, and I think we've managed to make a unique and addictive game. It's turned into something completely different from our original idea
