It's not often I have strong secondhand embarrassment for a corporation but these Southwest commercials advertising assigned seating on their flights like it's something we've all been waiting for? 😬😬

Whatever consequences there might be for eliminating those little paper dividers from our packages of pre-sliced cheese, I will take them.

"I don't understand how you can be such a worrier but still procrastinate all the time"

That's because you're an amateur who doesn't know how to worry with the big boys, I fear.

A Nosferatu/'Salem's Lot corpse-style vampire can have long fingernails. That makes sense. A recluse European castle vampire who grew them out? Fine. But you don't get retracting fingernails just because you have retractible fangs. Nails aren't bones, only teeth! You aren't Wolverine from X-Men.

A friend sent me a picture of Kate Bush dressed as a bat because they thought I would enjoy it. I wish it occurred to me to do spontaneous things like that for my friends because it was such a nice thing to do and of course I enjoyed it.

Supervillain pitch: Mister Mondegreen. He has the power to conjure weapons, allies, etc by mishearing what people say so the only way to defeat him is to overenunciate and speak slowly. Like if someone asks "What are you doing?" he goes "WATER?!" and summons a tidal wave.

Has anyone tried shaming the Christians for being so ideologically inconsistent? Maybe that will work! The problem could be that our state religion is being deliberately misinterpreted by a few bad actors.

PSA: Fully fleshed out stories with confirmed details do not appear instantaneously. Reporters must get information, confirm it and then write it up in an article that then needs to be edited prior to publication. Everyone is working as fast as possible I assure you.

The way he wrote Geordi in his Star Trek books only underscored what skimpy material LeVar Burton was usually given on the show. His X-Factor was filled with disregarded D-list mutants, only for David to unlock them. This page from X-Factor 87 completely changed how everyone looked at Quicksilver.

David did great work with big characters like Spider-Man ("Death of Jean DeWolff" is a classic), but his greatest gift was looking at underserved characters nobody else knew quite what to do with, and going, "Oh, *that's* what's interesting about them." +

The defining Hulk writer of my lifetime, who stuck around long enough to introduce a half-dozen new takes on an old, tired character. Author of most of my favorite Star Trek novels. Did terrific work with D-list characters like Madrox. Very funny. A big loss.

Every corporate training I've had in the last year about responsibly using gen AI

- Vague, mildly positive intro about the benefits of the technology
- Seemingly endless parade of its catastrophic negative consequences and how difficult they are to avoid.
- "But like it or not, it's here to stay!"

Just a humble ballboy whose dad owned the team and gave him a real job right after college. Then he inherited the team when his dad died. Not saying he wasn't an "NFL original," but surely in that case there's no need to bolster his legacy by dishonestly presenting him as a self-made man.
From starting as a ballboy to owning the team, Jim Irsay will be remembered as a Colts lifer.
