Obvs I'm voting for the levy but ffs you guys, if you care about "educationn" you could at least ask an English teacher to proofread your widely disseminated literature.
The school district put out door-hangers this week about their upcoming levy. Idk how many they made. 500? 1000?

There's a typo in the subhead.

In the word "education."
It's a kittycat recursion!! 💜
inspired by you I made this with some of my old gel plate prints.
My best Shakespeare paper was written tipsy, the night it was due, in the local cafe that was open all hours on exam week. (Shoutout to Enoch for the Bailey's in my hot chocolate!)

Granted, I accidentally submitted it with the filename CoriolanusIsAMamasBoy.doc, but I stand behind that analysis.
I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.
Inspired by @poorlycatdraw.bsky.social and the Vampurr, here's my favorite piece from today's library craft.
Right? Just read!! I want to whack judgy people over the head with an OED.
Not as embarrassing as judging people for what they enjoy reading, Padraig.
My probably-get-me-banned-from-Bluesky take is that a 45 year old woman saying her favourite author is Terry Pratchett is embarrassing for everyone concerned
Kemi Badenoch claiming Terry Pratchett as her favourite author is wild
I was mildly grumpy that the taco bell guy called me sweetheart.

But call me sweetheart AND forget half the ingredients in my cheesy gordita crunch?? I am swearing an oath of vengeance.
And if your institution won't let you do one, call it a "Freedom To Read" display.

I mean. They wouldn't want to say they hate FREEDOM, right?

(This is petty and simplistic but it has actually worked.)
Reminder from your resident high school lubrarian: if you plan to do a Banned Books Week display and programming, prioritize living marginalized authors. Use this time to help those who need it the most.
Damn, that bird sounds really loud, I hope it's not stuck in the AC hose, let me--oh shiiiiii!!!

[Artist's recreation, real bird too fast for photos]
Omg that's a STEAL! Those things were more expensive than that even when they were in production, lol.
Handed off a bunch of duplicate @bpal.bsky.social samples to a fellow librarian doing a multisensory event, and now the whole staff is yelling "SMELL ME!!" and dramatically reading the descriptions on the website.

Good times!
Happy birthday! It's weird, right??
OH MY GOD WE'RE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!
When you're working through the clinch games...
Yes! Always having a Plan B make it less likely that I will get panicky and need to use it, because I know I have options.
I'd be offended that losing to the Reds is the floor, but...well, fair.
"Camilla, we did it right, didn't we?"
Fever won, Reds won....Bengals who? 😬
Shortly after this pic, friends' toddler, whom I had never met, demanded that I sing wheels on the bus.

Of course I said yes, so the next 2 innings were "Sarr sing nother song???"

And I'm not a MONSTER, right? Sorry to everyone sitting near me (not really tho).
Reds home runs are extra fun when you're sitting right next to the smokestacks.
New achievement unlocked: splitting a shift on opposite sides of the city with a 3 hour break in the middle.

The gas is expensive but it's actually a fun kind of whiplash.
Just got hugged so hard it hurt by a 6'5" teen I've known since he was 9. And he only let go because he wanted to show me pics of all his crochet projects.

I love my job.
"Bonus if you do it while she's giving a speech," Jesus Christ, Astrid.
Booted up my current (evil) Skyrim run only to discover that my next Dark Brotherhood quest was Vittoria Vici and...yeah, that's a little much right now.
